2023 added new lengths to our success. Since 2020 we have firmly established ourselves as the lifting specialist that the wind industry looks to when servicing, handling, and installing offshore wind turbines.
This can be seen in the annual report that we have just published. And our Chairman of the Board Axel Manøe Jepsen considers the result 'extremely satisfying:
"2023 has seen significant growth and expansion of the company. In a financial year where we have invested significantly in new facilities and expanded the organization with more skilled employees, we have also secured solid growth on secured service contracts in Denmark and abroad. The result exceeds our expectations for the year and gives us optimism and confidence that we can achieve our ambitious and high goals in the years ahead," he says.
New test centre on the way
Earlier this year, Sten Dyrmose took over as our new CEO to both develop the existing business and find new markets.
"I can only have respect and great humility for the result that the company has achieved. It has been secured because the four owners decided that they wanted to be the best in the industry, and we are well on our way to achieving that," Sten Dyrmose says:
"But I wasn't brought in to applaud them! We need to move forward, and we need to manage the great results they have made possible. We need to grow, develop, and find new markets, and we need to invest in more employees and put on more weight. And we're going to do it the West Jutland way: we're going to make money, we're going to maintain our independence and we're going to have fun," he says.
In 2024 we have invested heavily in our very own test center.
"The center is a lifting universe where we can simulate and solve the challenges we face. Here we can train on the tasks and refine both skills and equipment so we can develop to the next level. A test center like this is the first of its kind, and it makes a huge difference that just around the corner we can test our equipment and train our operators in real life," Sten Dyrmose says.
A promising start to the year
We expect 2024 results to be on par with 2023, and the first quarter of 2024 has only reinforced those expectations.
"We're off to a great start already and can see that the demand for innovative and competent solutions will continue to be in demand across the energy sector in 2024. If we are to achieve our goal of expanding the wind sector to the extent required by our climate ambitions, efficient logistics is a key element - and HARCO can contribute something unique here," Sten Dyrmose says.
