Showcasing Precision and Control at the C1 Connections Demo Day

At C1 Connections’ recent Demo Day in Amsterdam, we proudly supported the live demonstration of their next-generation Wedge Connection system – showcasing how intelligent lifting and control can transform offshore installations.

In a recent live demonstration of C1 Connections’ next-generation Wedge Connection system, HARCO played a key role in delivering precise lifting and control.

The event took place at C1 Connections’ Demo Day at the harbor in Amsterdam, featuring a full-scale mock-up installation that showcased the potential of combining C1 Connections’ innovative Wedge Connection system and HARCO’s intelligent tagline systems.

When innovation delivers offshore efficiency

C1 Connections redefines how the wind industry assembles its largest components. With their new patented C1 Wedge Connection, they ensure faster, safer, and a more robust connection compared to traditional bolted flange systems.

It is an innovative solution, replacing traditional L-flanges, which will result in significantly reduced bolt and tool sizes, and thereby much shorter installation times. The wedge Connection consists of fasteners feature wedges, that these fasteners are pushed into specially designed flanges, and are then tensioned, resulting in the the fastener expansion when the wedges are pulled together, and thereby securely connecting the two flanges.

As an integrated part of the live demonstration, HARCO’s tagline system played a crucial role in safely and accurately guiding the Wedge Connection flange into place on a TP/MP mock-up. Throughout the lift and in the landing process, our equipment ensured smooth and precise positioning, demonstrating the importance of controlled operations during critical installation phases.

During the event, attendees witnessed HARCO’s tagline system in real-time action and were invited to learn more about the technology behind it. Visitors had the opportunity to engage with our team, see our winch systems up close, and gain insight into how HARCO’s solutions support complex offshore lifting operations with a strong focus on safety, control, and reliability.
