Manual mode
Manual mode is available by joystick and can be used to operate the winches individually. Manual mode is used for rigging and de-rigging of the system.
Dynamic Position Mode (Auto)
In Auto Mode, both winches work together to maintain the load’s position reference, ensuring a stable, non-rotating load.
Dynamic movements are compensated by directing torque to the winch experiencing the highest load.
If rotation is required, it is easily initiated by adjusting the position setpoint using the joystick.
Follow mode
In Follow Mode, both winches work together to maintain the position reference, ensuring a stable, non-rotating load with high precision – even for loads as light as 1,500 kg.
The system automatically follows load movements.
Dynamic movements are compensated by directing torque to the winch experiencing the highest load.
If rotation is required, it is easily initiated by adjusting the position setpoint using the joystick.
Adaptive Tension DP mode
In AT/DP mode, the DP software is running subsequently.
Once the load is in the correct position, AT/DP mode is activated.
This engages full torque at zero speed, at “setpoint wireout reading”, allowing the winches to maintain position at activation/existing load, up to full capacity.
If the system capacity is overloaded, the winches will pay out at minimum speed.
During Adaptive tension mode, the operator manually controls the load by joystick.
The joystick adjusts the speed setpoint, activating pay in/pay out of the winches.
CTS mode (Option)
CTS functionality upgrades the existing AT/DP mode to include active compensation and dampening functionality. This mode is only available on CTS winches.
The CTS software is designed to actively compensate vessel and load motions, ensuring that the load has a fixed position in relation to the vessel.
Active compensation is performed by feedforward motion sensors mounted on the load, enabling the winches to compensate/dampen load motions – while DP mode runs subsequently for ensuring precise and steady rotation control.
