Operating onshore presents different challenges compared to offshore, and transporting tagline systems across difficult terrain is one of them. But we believe it shouldn’t have to be so hard. That’s why we created Maverick.
Maverick is our Onshore DP Tagline System, mounted on caterpillar tracks, designed to effortlessly transport the tagline system across challenging ground and easily position it in the correct spot. It needs no external power supply as it has a self-contained power unit for powering the tagline system.
Maverick offers the same functionality as a tagline system mounted on a ballast interface but with a much easier method of transporting the system to the operational area.

Our Onshore DP Tagline System is ideal for a wide range of lifting operations, including:
Manual mode
Manual mode is available by joystick and can be used to operate the winches individually. Manual mode is used for rigging and de-rigging of the system.
Dynamic Position Mode (Auto)
In Auto Mode, both winches work together to maintain the load’s position reference, ensuring a stable, non-rotating load.
Dynamic movements are compensated by directing torque to the winch experiencing the highest load.
If rotation is required, it is easily initiated by adjusting the position setpoint using the joystick.
V-shape configuration
The onshore DP tagline system can be operated in V-shape configuration, where the system is mounted either in the bottom of the boom, or on the crane ballast with the wire routed through two guide pulleys in the bottom of the boom. The wires are then connected to the yoke through a snatch block, and goes up to the top of the boom.
With the V-shape setup, you get great control similar to a traverse system, in top and bottom position. With the wires connected to the top of the boom at installation height, you achieve almost the same control as you would have with a traverse system, slightly less control in the middle due to geometry, and good control in the bottom when picking up the load.
The V-shape setup is super fast to mobilize, and requires minimal crane interface, due to only requiring a lower interface, and a top connection point which is usually integrated in the crane. The V-shape system provides horizontal and vertical control at installation height, due to the horizontal line from the top attachment and the near vertical line from the winches. Due to the loop configuration, the V-shape setup operates at reduced speed.
Direct line configuration
The onshore DP tagline system can be operated in direct line configuration, where the system is mounted either on a ballast interface, or on a self-propelled Maverick interface. The interface is to be placed on the ground in a suitable position, ensuring a straight line for installation. The direct line configuration provides the control known from most on-shore installations, with an angled tagline connection ensuring good control of the load, but with slightly reduced rotation control compared to the V-shape and single line setup.
Single line configuration
Single line configuration is one of our new on-shore tagline system concepts. It introduces one guide wire winch, and a custom made snatch block.
The single line configuration consists of:
The single line configuration is simple to mobilize, as it only requires one guide wire to be routed from the winch to the top of the boom, and two tag wires to be routed through the snatch block to the top of the boom.
The configuration allows for adjusting guide wire elongation, ensuring the best possible control of the lifted load in all scenarios. With this setup, only longitudinal force is applied to the crane boom.
The single line configuration ensures high control during lifting operations in all scenarios, as it gives horizontal control due to the snatch block following the lifted load all the way from pick-up to installation height.
