HARCO Heavy Liftings main component exchange team has exchanged a gearbox and a generator on two 3,6 MW SGRE Turbines at DanTysk Offshore Wind Farm. The exchange was executed as a joint venture between Vattenfall, Fred Olsen and HARCO Heavy Lifting.
The exchange was executed as a 3-day charter starting in Esbjerg, completing 1x gearbox exchange followed by 1x generator exchange, and then transfer back to Esbjerg.
Combined with good weather conditions, a team of HARCO Specialists working safely and efficiently, the execution was performed in record-breaking time.
“Harco Heavy Lifting exchanged 2 main components faster than ever before at DanTysk. In Collaboration with Harco, we managed to increase the WTG availability on the turbines, and reduce Jackup charter rates, reducing overall costs.”
The Wind Farm covers an area of 70 square kilometers and is located 70 km off the island Sylt. The wind farm comprises 80 wind turbines of 3,6 MW SIEMENS Turbines. The total output of the wind farm is 288 megawatts and supplies up to 400,000 households. The rotor diameter is 120 meters and the tip height reach 148 meters. The first kilowatt hour was produced in December 2014. (source: powerplants.vattenfall.com)
